Some info on the rank resets on Battlefield 1943.
As most of you know since Battlefield 1943 was released there has been a stream of ongoing problems. First of all it was the servers, a huge amount people started playing the game that DICE's servers couldn't handle the copius amounts of players. They have been working non-stop throughout the clock trying to get more servers up so everyone can play, but that still isn't happening just yet. Also, some people are having difficulties with their EA accounts so they can't even get past the menu. DICE have been telling us that it will all be sorted in the near future, so don't worry everyone will be able to play without hassle soon enough.
The next problem to arise is a fairly recent one and is quite important, when you log on to Battlefield 1943 today you will realise that your rank has been reset to 0. Not to worry, DICE are performing maintenance on the soldiers profiles to make them much better than they already are. All the kills will still contribute to the Coral Sea challenge but no word just yet on whether they will go towards your overall rank. After the maintenance is complete the ranks will be put back to normal, along with all the badges that you unlocked. DICE say that ranks will be back to normal within a few days.

... I just don't think they were prepared for the huge amounts of numbers. Saying that, this happens with every release of an EA game, they always have server issues. Surely by this time they should have clicked on and released that their games are in high demand and prepare accordingly. |

Activision has also sold many millions of copies of CoD4 and W@W on the PS3, they are not going to simply abandon these sales because they want Sony to lower the price of their console, it would be an awful, awful, business decision, and last I checked Activision was a publicly traded business. It was simply Activision trying to throw their weight around. Sort of ironic coming from the company that is charigng $120 for Tony Hawk Ride. ... While it's great that those soldier profiles might get fixed... its a shame there's no word yet on whether more important issues will be fixed. I can't get Squad invites to work in a game on both platforms... and when I set one up from the main menu once in a game we usually get split up. Also voice chat is very messed up on PS3 |
